A word about ads: Like any entrepreneurial type, I'd love to turn a profit from something I really enjoy. For now, I have decided not to accept paid advertisements. If I pitch a product here, it is something I have examined and tested and deem it beneficial to our readers.

********************************************

PLEASE – we are always looking for bocce photos and feedback from all over the USA. We want to connect bocce fans everywhere. You can email (author@joyofbocce.com) or snail mail (Mario Pagnoni, P.O. Box 608, Methuen, MA 01844).

Joy of Bocce 2nd edition

The new edition will have lots of new information and photographs. I intend to use some of the photographs that readers have submitted for our Photos of the Week feature. Please let me know if you have sent me photos and DON'T want them included in the upcoming book.

If you send photos in the future (please do), be advised that I will consider them for inclusion in this second edition, unless you tell me otherwise. Be assured that I will give credit to the photographer whenever possible.

Photos of the week
This week’s photos show the progress of our Ken Waldie Senior Sports Circuit's new bocce home. We described in past issues how our group outgrew one court and the measures we took to remedy this (played games to 8 points instead of 12 - put another half set of balls in play so that six players could compete against six on one court, used Chris Pfeiffer's template courts, etc.).

One of our members has decided to build 4 courts on his property - two are completed and we are working on the other two. The courts are 80' by 11' and we hope to enclose them by the fall for year-round play.

The photos not only show our progress but also the equipment that our friend and bocce host Art Robichaud has at his disposal for court construction.

Bocce product of the week
Speaking of settling disputes over whose ball is closer...I just happen to have the finest measure for bocce stocked right on my shelves.

Still our most popular measure, this Prohawk International measuring device has been a big hit in this Ezine. I've placed photos on my website that clearly illustrate the product's features.

These measures are of very high quality and are reasonably priced. The Premier Boule Measure is designed for "inside measure" which is by far the most accurate.

The tape extends to 2 meters (about 6 ½ feet) and has a self-locking mechanism, calipers, and a game scoring mechanism. Makes a great gift for the bocce lover in your life. Every serious bocce player (and not-so-serious player) should have one. Please check them out ($19.95 plus shipping).

Non bocce product of the week
Ultra Prime™ is an advanced amino acid supplement that functions as an anabolic to build muscle and as a secretagogue to naturally increase the secretion of human growth hormone (HGH), the "master hormone" produced naturally by the brain's pituitary gland that governs the body's growth, aging and health maintenance.

This is not HGH. This is a substance that increases your body's natural production of HGH.

HGH influences the growth of cells that comprise bones, muscles and other organs throughout the body, and its levels decline as we age, contributing to the natural aging process.

Secretagogues are substances which can increase the production and natural release of HGH within the body.

Increasing the secretion of HGH helps the body to produce insulin-like growth factors (IGF) that provide a multitude of benefits that can return your metabolism to a more youthful state and help optimize your health.
